There still is, a few are showing blue throat signs now and others show the yellow throat.
This debate came because the parent specimens were collected as yellow bellies but in a region where the two variants overlap. So they could have both genes causing the variation in offspring.

Biota does not guarantee that the babies are all yellow throat. According to their web site, only one of the ones they keep show blue throat, the rest are yellow throat. They did not give the percentage or the denominator of this statistic.

Thanks for the info guys!

Lemonpeels are one of my favorites. Such bright coloration! Here are a few pics of my current specimen, dominant fish in my 5' 100 gallon butterflyfish tank. You can tell he eats a lot, this tank gets fed 6x daily with a wide variety of different foods.

So I’ve had a pair of Regals at TSM for about 8 months now and they are declining even more. So these guys will not be shipping to me. Now trying to decide if I forgot them altogether so I can finally get my pair of Scribbled and BlueFace out of the holding tank and into the display tank or try a pair of captive bred regals, which will be very tiny. The question is if I add the scribbled and blueface now will I ever be able to add a tiny pair of regals? Will the regals be too small for the other angels to mess with, Or will they end up being killed? Not sure what to do now. Any advice would be welcomed.

If the difference in sizes is big I would be cautious. I have had a regal angel living with a blueface with no problem at all. Now that same regal is living with a septentrionalis and an xanthopunctatus, also with no problems.
A good trick is to keep the new introduction in a crate cage for a few days so the inhabitants get used to him. Since I started using this method I have had no harassing to new fishes in my tank

Sorry I missed this one last month. No issues with my pair of each. Add a sub adult blueface (ugly stage) they will pair.

I already have a pair of blue face and a pair of scribbled. Just added them to the tank last week. Both pairs have been in holding tank for nearly a year. I was waiting to get the regals to add first. But that isn’t happening now. Feels good to finally see them in my display tank

Pictures of them in acclimation boxes. Released scribbled first and the blue face a week later. No aggression at all between them.

The scribbled female is quite a bit smaller than the male.
