So I should of known better than add an angel to my tank I took a chance by getting a blue angel. Did very well for the first couple weeks but last night I noticed my clam not opening up. I pulled it out and put it in the other tank. This is what it looks like today. Now the challenge will be to try and catch the angel out.

Thanks, Yes, the whole genus has a very distinctive mouth shape.

A shame my meredithi got some sort of infection of his lower lip a few years ago. Caused the skin to recede slightly, exposing his teeth. Nothing harmful, just visually a bit unattractive :(

I'm having the hardest time trying to catch this angel out. Anyone have any advice ? I have a trap in the tank and it's been there for a week now. Everyone besides the angel goes in it.

rookie,

what kinda angel?

are your angel comfortable with you when you feed them? Mine come up to the top of the tank and wait for me to feed them, I could reach and touch them.

if you can do that, then have net in one hand and food in another....put food in and then net it..

otherwise, I have used a barbless hook with fishing line before, but with this you need to make sure the correct fish takes the bait. :)

I know I prolly will get flack for this but I only use this as last resort AND only used it once in my time in the hobby..

NC2WA,

It's a blue angel.

He is some what comfortable but only comes up half way to get food. I have been using tongs to hold the food up at the top but he just waits it out.

I've tried the barbless hook with other fish but my tangs are the first to go for the food.
