I personally think this scape is better. Best one I’ve seen IMO for your nano :)
Agreed.

Also the blue clam and plating coral (Monti?) draw my eye instantly!

Yep!
I have 4 monti’s in the tank, the largest being that Montipora capricornis at the top.
And obviously I can’t forget my Clam (who I call ‘Constellation’ as the pattern reminds me of looking into the sky as it dims).
What’s your favorite thing in the tank? Mine are the Pink Streaks lol.
Dang that’s a hard one!
In terms of inverts my favourite is the Maxima Clam, my three shrimp are close second though!
For fish, definitely my Pinkstreaks :)
And for coral… it has to be the Montipora, although it’s hard to choose just one monti haha.

I have to say, if this Tenuis…

Becomes this…

I cannot wait! You can see the yellow/gold on the polyps already coming in :)

But for now, I currently love my Acropora turaki, the blue/grey polyps on the green are beautiful.

It looks very similar to my fastest growing Acropora (still can’t figure out what species it is).

And if you can’t tell, I love the Staghorn and bottlebrush growths in Acropora, I don’t know what it is it just makes me feel like I own a true reef.

I turned on the light for one minute to get a photo of my Stylophora pieces and decided I would also get a couple other closeups after seeing some were in possible feeding mode :)

Yes I do still have many Acropora and other SPS that I love, I just don’t show them too often now (I mean, I’m up to 13-15 SPS in total and still feel like I need more haha).

I just did my first round of feeding!
I will not usually do it quite so late however I noticed some of the corals looked to be in ‘Feeding mode’, most notably the Turaki, Tenuis and third new acro (another one I cannot ID but that’s normal as the size it’s currently at says very little about what species it is). In fact, in those photos you can see the 3 newest acropora are in feeding mode!
I got a perfect feeding response from some when pumps were off, but with the pump on, the majority started a feeding response.

I will do it earlier and will do it again this week to do a comparison.
I’m testing wether to do a partially ‘dissolved’ method and do a spot feed on them or just completely ‘dissolve’ it into the water and broadcast feed it.
Next time i feed it should be in daylight and hopefully I’ll get a couple photos if not videos :)

Well, I’ve only just noticed this guy looks rainbow with some polyps looking yellow, some looking red and others looking blue.
I can tell you know this isn’t completely accurate and is a trick of the light although it is gorgeous with that trick.

Well, I discovered a numbered frag rack and figured that because I had a few broken pieces of coral from glueing everything, I’d get a couple new frags on the go!
Hopefully they take off, I got 2 birdsnests, that beautiful acro in the centre of the tank that bases out nicely and another unknown one.

I’ve got a question if you wanted to sell or just want for your tank what would it be Seriatapora,Stylophora, or Pocillipora?

It’s between Seriatopora and Stylophora for me, all are beautiful but Pocillipora is just a weed that grows and grows.
Stylos and Seriatopora on the other hand give you a really nice growth and reward :)

Your pH is really low and isn’t your dKH a bit high? Is this ok how your corals looking?

Sorry I just get really worried lol.

My Alk stays higher than usual, but also I need to calibrate the Kh keeper, it’s been on my need to do list but I’ve not gotten round to it. The reason I keep higher Alk is purely because of the two clams going into a growth spurt phase.
As for the low Ph, I cannot for whatever reason get it up. However it may just be due to lower airflow.

What type of test was this, @aaroncantthink?
It was a mix, Phos & Nitrates were from the tests from reef factory, Mg & Ca are Red Sea tests and the others are automated tests (My nano is much more automated than my 4’ tank is now).

Make sure not to add any pH raisers as it will raise your already high Alk. Any way to increase air flow? Sounds like that’s going be a problem if you don’t have enough atm.

The Ph is measured by the Kh keeper as well and likely isn’t that low. But yes I have a window opened in hopes of increasing it :)

I also went to the LFS today for saltwater and you know how it goes, you go for one thing and come back with another. I nearly came back with a stunning turquoise maxima, instead I settled for this milk spotted cowrie.
