What do you think works better at reducing nitrates out of these? . Ive used tetra for many years with success in tropical but haven't tried it in marines and haven't used the other product before at all.

Both are adding organic matter to drive bacterial growth, and I see no reason to think either is better than DIY methods such as viengar or vodka. :)

I would just increase water changes and change out mechanical media more frequently first. Carbon dosing is effective but many times can be overdosed and lead to more issues
