Ok I went to BSL today and dzones was such a good salesman, that I left with more than I went in for. Here are a few pics of the 1' X 1' X 1' rimless pico tank, that dave forced on me, haha.

Here is one with water and sand only.

Second angle of water and sand. Ignore the Rubiks cube and the freshwater tank in background.

Heater, Filter, LED lights. 6.5 Gallons of SW. BioSpira and a couple small live rocks later.

Close up of the live rock and some corals I found laying around.

Not the clearest pic, but this is another angle and some bamboo for decoration.

And Finally for today. Nighttime pic.

Any ideas about keeping white sand out of black sand? It sticks out like a sore thumb.

I think you need to add a chiller and Vortec.
Everytime I go to DZones I deposit $100 just to because he is so nice, LOL

From looking on the internet the model is the SolarFlare 115. It has 2 - 3 watt 10,000K Daylight diodes. 2 - 3 watt 6700K warm daylight diodes, and 1 - 3 watt actinic diode. It says it has 15 watts for wide spectrum illumination. My tank is 7.5 Gallons.

Somebody more knowledgeable on the LED wattage to other lighting source wattage conversion will be needed to answer that. All I can say is after 24 hours of the new pico tank and light. I'm super happy I bought it. The light is extremely stylish for the low price.

Looks really nice. What do you plan on stocking the tank with coral wise?

I'm thinking about just covering it with zoas and green star polyps. Thanx for all the compliments.

I am figuring it is a 7.5 Gallon tank. I put in about 6.5 gallons according to the pitcher I used to fill it. Then I added the big rock. Guessing the displacement of the rock and the small amount held in the filter. It has maybe 6 Gallons of water. 5% of 6 gallons is .3 Gallons needed for a weekly water change. So it's 4.8 Cups or 38.4 Fluid Ozs. Does that sound about right? This is new territory to me. I'm used to doing around 10% WCs on my bigger tanks and I really try to do that weekly. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, you have the larger one. I guess I was thinking about the tiny one at BSL. I am not sure what the normal weekly change is for those, but I would probably do a 10%.
