This tank has a severe case of the uglies. It's not getting enough phosphates would be my guess. It's still just plugging along though. Occasionally I see a Berghia crawling around.

@tharbin we're going to try to go to the soap store over in Tempe tomorrow morning at some point. Do you want me to see if I can grab a couple of Berghia and try to meet up? If not, I'll keep them running. Still plenty of food for them. :slightly-smiling-face:
@tbrown, your timing is impeccable. My wife offered to go pick them up for me this morning but when I checked the tank I could only find three Aiptasia still in the tank, although they are big ones.

I logged in tonight to tell you that you should go ahead and find the Berghia a different home. The Peppermint shrimp have been doing their job. I've even started managing their proclivity for tearing apart Hammers for their food. I just started feeding the LPS again but I'm doing it closer to lights on and I hang around to shoo the Peppermints away if they come out. I've never seen one of the Peppermints when the lights are on so it should be okay. I have about a half dozen Aiptasia in the frag tank but all tolled, not enough to keep one Berghia in food for long.

Thank you for holding them for me. BTW, is the soap store Soap Des Jour? It looks interesting.

I e got some phos if you want.
I need to mix more. I'm down to 500 ml in the doser for the other tank. That's only about 100 days worth...

Too small imo, maybe a little Trimma?
Plans changed, but thanks for the suggestions! Now it's a Berghia tank. No fish, just Aiptasia and Berghia Nudibranches.

The store is Arizona Soap Supply. They sell big blocks of soap bases for inexpensive. My wife makes some for projects and my daughter made some for gifts. My wife's teaching a beeswax class at our co-op this semester and she's getting some honey soap bases for honey soap for the kids to make.

Good call. At least some Peppermints are overrated. Mine are doing great work on the Aiptasia but I'm losing Hammers. I just found a missing head on my green Hammer. I am not happy.

Hammers always grew well for me. Since adding the Peppermints (all Hammers started as 2 head frags): 5 head Gold Hammer - gone, 11 head Peach Hammer - 4 dead heads, and now I don't know how many heads but at least 15-20 heads Green Hammer - 1 head gone another almost gone. Coincidence?

That's the way mine went. No disease or tissue left, just gone except the first two, on the Gold Hammer, that were torn up. I think they were figuring out that Hammers were tasty...

You should get some orange ball anemones to populate the rock work, I think that would look really good! 20240817_160555.jpg
I like Strawberry/Ball Anemones. From my understanding, unlike most Aiptasia eaters, Berghia will only eat Aiptasia... I could be wrong.

What are the pico dimensions?
Ummm... I forget. It's like 13" * 12" * 10" tall but it has a back section that's probably around 3" by 12".

I can check the thread.

Yes I think your right, and I did more research, it turns out "ball anemones" are all psudeo cornactis mushroom corals even the small ones. So the berghias probably wouldn't touch them.
