Tailspot Blenny vs other blennies

ooohhh...my wife is looking for a fish that will "sit on the rocks"...this might be a good option, glad you posted it!

She loved the Hawkfish, but we also have Shrimp and I've heard that's a terrible idea.


We're putting in a Link's Goby & Court Jester Goby soon, do you think a Tailspot would have any issues with those two in a 90 gal?

All 3 of those are small and pretty timid gobies/blennies. I wouldn't expect any aggression between them especially in a tank that big

Tail-spotted Blennies are the best. I have had a few over the years, and they have all had great personalities.

I have a hawkfish with the coral banded shrimp, no problem... and both are about 4 years in my tank.

I just researched this myself about a month ago because after I moved the tank I had a hair algae outbreak. Spot loves to eat algae! Only been in the tank for a couple of weeks now but appears to be doing great!

Have a tailspot, court jester, purple firefish, midas, along with my wrasses, clowns, and bangai’s in my 115 gal mixed. All have been well behaved.

In my 40 gallon cube, my

tsb absolutely loves perching. I built a bit of a rock tower in my tank to add some height and he has always lived up there. This guys adds nice movement and color up at the top and will most likely enjoy the whole reef.

just added my blenny in 2 days ago. He seems mainly to enjoy hiding. Is there anything I can do to promote outgoing behavior?

They do like their caves, but I found that after a few days, and once he became comfortable, my tsb would begin to feed with my other fish. This is when he became more social. Maybe right now, try feeding him with your other fish if he'll accept the same food. They are actually pretty social once they get comfortable. Mine interacts with my wrasse and comes out just to swim with him. With all that being said, there will be times when he's in his hiding spot.
