I'm considering a trip to chattanooga, tricities, or a nearby city, to visit fish stores. It seems that many stores are out of business, but still have numbers and info online. Can you all help me with what stores are currently open, and give any info or reviews on them? Selection, pricing, etc...

Thanks.

I'm up near tricities and there is one lfs in Kingsport that is strictly a saltwater lfs however I haven't made the trip up there. I much prefer to drive the hour and a half to AM or coral reef than test the waters with them up there. There is a lfs in Johnson city called village pets. But they are basically a mom and pop petco. They have a great bacteria in a bottle that I used on my parents tank, but that's about all I can say good about them. I am a very active hobbyist in reptiles as well and their selection and pricing on that ticks me off. Back when I started my parents tank, I bought a damsel fish for cycling and when I got it in the car my sister pointed out it was missing an eye. But as for saltwater selection, bottom of the barrel. They have a coral beauty in there and I believe the price was around $60. Btw, no coral. But on the upside I bought a clean up crew and got snails and crabs for right at $1 a head. But they sell pinkie mice in there for $1.50 which is pretty outrageous for anyone who deals with reptiles. In greeneville there is a store called pet kingdom. If you enjoy and love animals in anyway you will not go there. They are the definition of bad customer service. They are literally 5 min from my house and I drive to knoxville for all of my lfs needs. Hope this helps.
