I would like some input into what fish to stock next in my 120 gal mixed reef. I would prefer a fish that does not look black or brown under blue light. Also looking for an easy to feed fish, one that eats mysis, pellets, and nori.

Tank size is 120 gallons, 4 feet by 2 feet by 2 feet with a 40 gal breeder sump.

Coral types: Acropora, Mushrooms, Lps, Zoas, Gorgonians.

Current stock:
2 red firefish
1 royal gramma
1 coral beauty
1 starry blenny
1 two spot bristletooth tang (he is a bit of a d!ck, bullies everyone except for the sailfin)
1 sailfin tang
1 carpenter flasher wrasse male
2 hermit crabs
1 skunk cleaner shrimp
1 fighting conch

Am I maxed out on tangs? I've considered the Chocolate Tang (which is brown I know), also I like the Christmas wrasse but don't know too much about them yet.

Would chalk bass be a safe fit?

Any help is appreciated!

Yes I would say your maxed on tangs
Chalk bass wouldn't be good with the royal gramma.
I would say look into some more wrasse like a yellow corris wrasse or a leapord wrasse.

Christmas wrasse can occasionally not be invert safe but very fun to watch (probably the safest halichoeres wrasse). I wouldn't add any more tangs, and honestly a full adult sailfin will feel pretty cramped in a 120.

Adult chalk bass can make a meal of smaller fish like firefish is my understanding.

What about a small group of anthias? If adding no other fish, a group of 3 lyretails 1male 2 females would be beautiful swimming around and may even curb some tang aggression/encourage them to swim

Yeah with leopard wrasse the "expert only" tag is deceptive. If eating like a pig at the store, in my experience they are one of the hardiest and easiest fish to keep. Just as fun to watch as most halichoeres wrasse without nearly as much invert danger

The gramma and Chalk bass won't play nice

I think the anthias will be the addition, I just worry about aggression amongst eachother, are they like chromis that will kill til 1 left?
That's a reasonable fear and why I suggested lyretails. From what I've seen in harems with 1 male and a few females they tend to at least not kill each other. Sometimes they swim together other times no

Sailfin will have to rehomed. If you want another Tang do a smaller species of Zebrasoma: Yellow, Purple, Scopas, Gem.

You could also consider something like a Genicanthus angelfish, Singapore Angel (difficult), one of the smaller Chaetodontoplus like Blue Spotted or a Copperband (more difficult) or another butterfly.

Chalk Bass are good. You can get a pair or trio maybe, they’re simultaneous hermaphrodites that can swap gender at will.

Sadly I lost the lawnmower blenny as he never took to prepared foods. If I were introduce a starry blenny and a midas blenny at the same time, would this make it likely they'd both be okay in a 120?
