Ok. I have read this particular thread about 100 times and still haven't landed on an answer. However, I think I'm close. I bought a holy girl torch froma friend of mine. The holy girl torch was perfectly open and flowing. However when transferred to my tank, it became stubby and not flowing. Our tank parameters are in all in line other than my magnesium is a bit high 1600. After doing some research, the only difference between our two tank was par at the level torch was at. Even though everything you read, says the par for a torch should be low, all of his torches were doing excellent at about 300 par. I placed him about 150 and do not have room in my tank to put him at 300 par. Question is will he ever adapt an open up? I also believe this is probably the main issue when torches do not open. Curious to thoughts or if anybody has par levels with torches. First photo my torch. Second is torch he was fragged from
