Luckily my building has a massive diesel generator. If we lose power whole building is back up in the time it takes the super to get the generator going. So maybe 10 minutes at most.
Lost power for 2.5 hours this past Saturday in Melbourne, fortunately my battery back up kicked in....ran wave makers and filter until power returned. Great investment for $250
It was if you're where I am In the Caribbean.

Im in NWFL and every year there is a pucker factor when they start to develop.
Its best to have generators + battery bank. (and then might add solar panels) otherwise you go thru too much fuel.. My smaller 2500 watt generator probably sips a gallon every 3-4 hours. by using the small generator + charger and some deep cycle marine batteries we can keep the tank going with 25 gallons of diesel easily for over a month... without ever having to hook up to ground based power at all. (i have solar as we are offgrid)but its not really needed for outage scenerio)

I'm about 2 miles from dipping my toes into the gulf. Im just east of Pensacola in Navarre.

Telegraham has some decent videos on YouTube about short term power outages. He usually doesn't get into the actual subject matter until thirty or forty minutes in though.
It is getting a little worrisome I was just at the gas station with lines out of the parking lot, water is flying off the shelf, hunker down and stay safe every one!!!
