I have a 12 gallon AIO with a Yellow Clown Goby and a Tailspot Blenny.

Any suggestions for other tankmates? I'm most interested in something bold and engaging, possibly open water swimming.

I previously had a Wheeler's Shrimp Goby, but he just jumped ship. I have a cover, but the bow front makes it impossible to cover the entire top.

Bold and engaging may not work with a gap in your lid. Clownfish, dottyback, royal gramma - these are all fish that will do well in a your tank.
Interesting, I thought those would be too large/aggressive for this tank.

I actually think I'll hold off adding a fish for now. I think I'll save for a ~20 gallon with matching stand then upgrade the stocking.
