New FTS. Made a few adjustments to dosing. 2 part is now split for morning / nighttime. After about 4 days I swear I’m seeing happier corals with the the more even spelled of Alk/Ca. Some other pics added too.

Should’ve waited for pics. My LRO delivery came earlier than expected and now I have new stuff to show off. Cleaned up and added another frag rack. A nice Eshopps one that I got as a Secret Santa gift in 2022 from @MrsBugmaster . Glad to have use for it again. I also am experimenting with strength of the flow in the tank. Cut the SCP down to lowest pulse speed/strength and the Mighty Jet return I bumped down to 2.5 on pulse. Nero’s are now pulsing at 45%. Next post I’ll post pics of newbies from last 2 deliveries

This an upgrade from the 60 gallon SR that I’ve had up and running. Partly due to having to consolidate tanks as I’m having to move next May. This had been a freshwater setup that I had running since July of 2021 but had a major pump failure earlier this midsummer and lost most of the livestock. Hence instead of rebuilding the freshwater setup I’m going with a reef. So here’s the tank that I’m moving the contents from.

Heres the tank I’m moving it into. Have had a bit of cleaning to do. Firstpic was this mid morning the last tonight.

IMG_3668.jpeg

Heres the initial equipment list
90 gallon Acrylic AIO with a Fluval 407 for added filtration. Intend to use the canister for chemical filtering and polishing the water.
Two Nero 3s
Tunze 6040
Jebao TW10
Helios controller with 300 watt titanium heater
ReefBreeders Photon v2 32 . Possibly adding a couple Lumenbars that have on hand to help with the added depth of the tank.
i have about 70 lbs of live rock , probably adding a bit more
Using 120 lbs of CaribSea Ocean Direct sand. No old sand but I’m going to do a thorough sifting to get any organisms that I want to keep.
Livestock includes
41 (at present) Gonis
3 Alveopora
9 Torches
8 Frogspawn
3 Hammers
10 Micromussa
7 Montipora
5 Acros
5 Stylophora
2 Bowerbanki
and few assorted other coral
BlueStar Leopard wrasse
Melanurus wrasse
Blue Eyed Bristletooth Tang
Orange Spot Blenny
2 Ocellaris Clowns
2 Bangaii Cardinals
assorted snails
Pincushion Urchin
Sea Cucumber
‘and various sand dwellers
I'm excited to see how your tank turns out!

Yeah I don’t use a skimmer or reactors. My tank is an AIO that can be used for either fresh or salt. Came with a ton of bio ball that were put to good use when it was fresh. But now I have the chamber right before the return pump filled with live rock and my 2 pincushion and pencil urchin are in jail there. I’d like to get some chaeto uand use my ReefBreeders pico light to grow it in the chamber in front. And the heater is in another chamber back there. As for actual mechanical filtration I have a Fluval 407 canister that also has carbon. It’s not running right now cause I’m using chemiclean . For whatever reason coraline hasn’t started really at all in this tank even though it was growing quite well in the previous two tanks. Ok, whew, that’s the most exhaustive rundown I’ve ever given for the tank.
Pretty much the tank gets broadcast fed . I use a combination of frozen that includes plankton, mysis,a greens heavy omnivore mix, and a carnivore food. Heavy feeding to get the entire tank. Here’s all the things that I use. The powdered gets used 1 or 2 times a week, phyto every other day, the Reef Plus for aminos and vitermans ever 2nd or third day, the Snow twice a week, and vitalizer says every day but I use it every other.

Ever feel like we put more effort into feeding our tanks a varied diet than we eat ourselves?

I guess I'm lucky, my 27yo daughter moved in. Before that I was on a kids diet, ate what they ate which was cereal, pop tarts, grilled cheese, lunchables, chicken nuggets, pizza.... Ya know...

Except for the lunchables which I think are horrible in all ways , I’d probably do the same.

Oooh, that goni is a beauty. Will be watching its progress in your care. Which translates to, “Massive Goni Seen Roaming Thru Tokyo” Scientists believe it comes from the famed Schuerger Lab!

Ok new pics. I did some mounting and rearranging. And some general tank stuff like the usual dosing. Placed new hammer with the others of its ilk, moved my new regular Goni with the others, the three that are I’m pretty sure are all Bernardpora have a spot of their own on a rock in the back left which I’m calling “Weekend at Bernie’s “ in reference to a classic 80’s flick.
