Hey everybody! Just got my new 30L in and setup!! I would say I have slightly more than beginner experience but not much more than that. I plan on having “easier” or “lower maintenance” corals for now probably softies and Lps until I get that sps itch ‍♂️ I’ll be asking plenty of newbie questions and looking for opinions I have thick skin and a thicker skull so hit me with the facts blunt and upfront!

equipment list:
-30L Nuvo fusion with Aps stand
- Stock mighty jet 538gph return pump
-Titanium 100W heater and cooling fan with inkbird controller
-2 AI prime HD’s
- Nero 3 powerhead
- Tunze ATO 3155

Future additions:
- 4 stage Ro/Di
- new media racks
- second return pump
- maybe skimmer

stock wish list:
-clown pair
- regal/hippo tang
- yellow watchman gobble and pistol shrimp

Will be working on the aqua scape this week and will update as I go!

Update on the build. Doser pump came in today and is fully installed and calibrated. I run my ato through the doser. How I did this is as followed.
40gal loses .5gal a day to evap. So 40 x .5 /100 = 1.25% a day. 30 x 1.25 /100 = .375 gal or 1419.529 ml a day. Rounded to 1420ml divided by 10 142ml .... 24 /10 is 2.4hrs ... 60 x40 / 100 is 24 minutes so you should dose 142ml every 2 hours 24 minutes. Starting at midnight this is what happens. Now at the 10th spot you would be dosing twice so I decided to dose at 11 and at 12 am. This makes it 10 times a day for 142ml or 1420ml a day. I will be monitoring my salinity for the next 5 days checking it regularly for 1.025. Also checking the level in the pump baffle to see if level maintains. Let me know what you think.
