I recently purchased a Blue Line 120w VHO LED Pendant and have been looking at ways to mount this on my tank/stand. The tank/stand is "caddy cornered" in the kitchen/dining area. My tank is a 30 gal cube. 24x24x12 inches deep. I have decided to go with this very cool and sleek looking stand.

Planted Aquarium Tank Articles - How to Make an ADA Style Light Stand with Stainless Steel - Project Aquarium

Now to figure out exactly where to order the stainless steel from. Anyone know of any machine shops locally where I might buy the steel? I am going to have to get a machine shop to fabricate some brackets for me as well as drill some holes in the stainless steel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Remember ya'll, being a gal with no husbandly support regarding my tank, I can use all the help/suggestions I can get!!! I am going to have to make some measurements and hope I will get those right!! My son will help as much as he can but lives in Memphis, is a newlywed and travels for his job. He will be here for the February meeting and I would absolutely love to have this here and ready to attach to the tank when he is here, so time is of the essence. LOL. TIA Vicki

Unless I am missing something your basically talkingabout a u shaped arbor that will stand over your tank.so unless you just really really want metal you should be able to go to lowes or home depot, get a couple of 2x2's, metal braces forthe corners and make the same thing (now I am in now way an expert in wood or metal or the like but that is what i would attempt due to cost and my limited abilities when it comes to making things)

The pendant is pretty heavy and I want it to look very sleek. I used L shape metal "things" mounted on the wall to suspend a 250 w MH over a 20L frag tank at one time. However, since this one is in the kitchen/dining area and "caddy cornered" this would not work plus I wanted it to look much sleeker than what I had previously. It is not supposed to cost over $100, from what the article said. I want the tank to blend in like a piece of furniture. It should require very little on my part. It will mostly be the machine shop doing the work. Except for cleaning the steel and actually screwing the wood screws and spacers in. Just looking for somewhere locally to buy the materials. I made a pvc stand to go over my "frag tank will travel" tank used for frag swaps. I hung a 250w MH over that. However I want to dress this one up a bit. Thanks for the suggestion though.
