Funny story lol, I have actually already read it and am following it! The tank is really coming into its self and the clams and sps really look great!
Hahaha, that is funny! Every good story needs drama right??

I have similar plans when I turn 16, and thanks for the lighting advice! Which Radion or reefbreeder would be the sufficient size for a 20 Gallon SPS dominant mixed reef, or mixed reef in general??
One xr15 would be suitable but you’d have to crank it to 100 and a xr30 would provide significantly greater coverage. But you could do either a 16 inch reefbreeders or a 24 inch and still grow things like crazy but a 24 inch would completely eliminate shadowing

I had an IM 20 for about 2 yrs. You can see the end product in my build thread. it is a great tank! My SPS grew like weeds. I had 2 Prime Hds using the AB+ program BRS did a video on. I used a Sicce 1.5 return and an MP 10. I also used two InTank media baskets with floss, carbon and purigen in each one. I also ran an IM ghost skimmer. it was fine but I supplemented with weekly 5 gallon water changes. it can be done and it can thrive. I also used a cheap Jaebo 2 part doser. Good luck! Here are a few pics:

New year, new tank!!! And this build is finally more than a dream!! So, I guess this is where I do the basic beginning of a tank build into so here we go:
Tank:
Red Sea reefer nano with black stand (21 display volume with 7 gallon sump)
Equipment:
-Sicce 2.0 return pump
- A360 (possibly sell for an upgrade but we shall see)
-MP 10 ( I need to buy the wet side)
And that’s it so far, to get the tank off the ground and started, along with everything the tank comes with. Let me know if I am missing anything major
- neotherm 75 watt heater and a thermometer
Stocking plans:
- mixed reef ( hopefully SPS dominant)
- a clown pair
- a wrase of some type
And fish with color ( let me know if you have any recommendations, as I need ideas)

So far:

- if you can see in the right corner of the picture I picked up a 20 lb bag of Bimini pink live sand
-I also have a bottle of Fritz 900 saltwater sitting in my fridge
I know this stuff is controversial and I am not going to rush it, but just trying to kick start the cycle and I am planning to take it slow.
- I will be picking up rock that has been cycling since June 2018 from my LFS, making my scape ( or trying to), and getting the tank wet on Saturday.

Any notes or recommendations please let me know . And any tips on the sump ( my first tank with one) or one anything else would be greatly appreciated!
Happy new year and am excited to get this build up and running!
-Ava

EDIT: I am going to move this to the member tank thread and will put the link to my new build thread in a few minutes!
