This thing is growing on my snail but can’t work it out what it is. If a touch it closes like clams

it doesn’t seems to bother the snail but would be nice to know it is safe.

What parts are you talking about. The thing I saw was a small oyster-like thing on the side of the shell at 8 o'clock in the first picture. If you are talking about the coralline algae looking stuff on top, I have no idea.

Looks to me to be a crested oyster, Ostrea equestris.

Edit.
Just noticed you are from across the pond. Could be a different species of Ostrea, not familiar with species on that side.

On one hand I am happy if you are right as this could mean good quality water (I can be wrong at this) on the other hand if it is an oyster that snail evetually won’t able to carry it around
Wondering how did it came to the tank...

Looks like a spiny oyster which is a sessile invertebrate that remains securely attached to the tank floor or rock structure and does not move around. With their unique exterior, the Spiny Oyster makes a captivating addition to any tank.
The Spiny Oyster is best kept in tanks with good water quality, moderate to strong current, and moderate light. They are peaceful and will readily take calcium supplements for better growth and Can get large.

I will tell that snail to stay put in the best location for that oyster where I can admire it every day. ;)

it is peaceful so fare an you all agree on this is some kind of oyster. I guess I will be more clever in a few month or more like years when it will be bigger.

it is rather small yet as it fits in between 2 spikes of that snail.
