So here's my problem, I live on a well and after going through the water softener my TDS is around 800! I've been told (and have seen myself) that 800 TDS is much too high to put through a RODI system and expect 0 TDS on the output. Right now I am getting around 20 TDS on the output and my assumption that the 20 TDS is mainly sodium ions from the water softener. I would like to set up a second RODI system that takes the 20 TDS output from step 1 and then uses a booster pump to go through RODI step 2 with the goal of 0 TDS after both RODI's. Has anyone ever had this problem and would a simple booster pump be able to take suction from an unpressurized vat of water?

4 stage 100 gpd from bulk reef supply
I am really curious what results you would with the larger rodi systems that bulk reef supply sells. Im currently running on the 6 stage since my tap water has really high tds.
It may be worthwhile talking to their support team and see if any customers run into that same issue as you and if their larger units would be the solve for this.

I have always thought about running two setups myself but figured I would be wasting more water than I would like.

What happened with this? My incoming TDS is 714 and I am trying to design a system now. The typical answer I have been given is you will go through your DI resin quicker with a higher input TDS, but I would like to address the issue before going into the first DI stage.

My coworker designed a system for his whole home, not aquarium, that uses some 14000gpd brackish membrane and gets TDS output of single digits...so im currently looking at that, but just at a smaller scale. I'd be happy with 100gpd.
