Thanks for reading this post.

I purchased a Soho Tang from my local fish store about a month ago; the first couple of weeks I saw some white dots that appeared to have been ich but it overcame, this past couple of days he's had a spot on the side of its head that I had never seen before and today's he's not doing well. Is there any way I can save this little guy?

Background, the last couple of weeks I started dealing with some sort of algae bloom, I am getting some red pigmentation on the sand bed, the glass is getting a thin film every other day that I have to scrape off, and the water surface also has a thin layer with some bubbles even though there's plenty of surface agitation and the flow really hasn't changed.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Possibly HLLE but there are others here that would have a better idea. What are your tank parameters? What are you feeding him? Diets make a difference. :)
I have been feeding green algae seaweed for the Soho, two Sailfin, 1 Blue Hippo, 1 Purple, 1 Yellow Tang. I stopped over the last week thinking it might have attributed to the green algae bloom so for now it's been mysis and brine shrimp. One thing of note, none of the other tangs are showing any sings of health issues.

This is not hlle and may be damage from netting and has become a bacterial issue.. while fish may respond to ruby rally pro, this will be best treated using seachem kanaplex in a separate treatment tank with added aeration

Not a sufficient diet- add LRS herbivore frenzy, plankton, mysis shrimp, formula 2 and TDO pellets

How is the tang "not doing well"? Is it showing other symptoms like not eating, rapid breathing?
Is the spot on its head only on the right side, or is there a similar spot on its left side also?

He’s not swimming well in staying in one spot barely grazing at the rocks. It’s the only spot on the head. It had ich two weeks prior and was swimming and eating just fine.

Well, if it were my fish, I would give it a 5 minute FW dip and then move it to a stable treatment tank (with the same water quality as your display) and dose it with coppersafe. I can see small discolored areas on the fish's body,

Thanks for your reply. He's now safely in a treatment tank
