Wonder if anyone can help me. Having troubles keeping softies. All my LPS,mushrooms and BTA are doing very well but clove polyps, GSP, Kenya tree won’t open. GSP and Kenya tree opened first day but have been closed since for over a week and clove polyps haven’t opened at all. Using RO/DI with aqua forest reef salt. Running Active carbon and also done a ICP but everything came back fine and normal.

Water conditions as follow:

Salinity 35ppt

Calcium 450

Alk 9

Nitrate 10

Phos 0.1

Ph 8.2

Mag 1340

Ammonia 0

Nitrite 0

Parameters are fine. Just be patient. Some tanks have some odd responses to coral types for a while. I can grow toadstools and kenya trees and polyps (although the polyps did take a few months to get healthy), but GSP and zoas elude me....go figure. Haven't tried it in a while, but not everything responds immediately. Softies/LPS maybe considered easier (and I agree) but doesn't mean they don't need some time.

Could be getting used to new light and new parameters. Might lose one or two but making a bunch of changes isn't going to stop that and might hurt established corals.

Mixed results on bellus angel nipping coral. It's something to watch for
Really!? My LFS sold me it saying it’s the only angel that wouldn’t nip! I’ll keep and eye out but haven’t seen him nip. Thanks for the heads up

I've read that to but I've read other reports that state otherwise. Something to watch for.
