I took these pictures last January when I was in Australia for study abroad. I don't know what possessed me to post them today but here goes. Sorry for the bad picture quality. I took them with the digital camera they had for rent on the boat.

Nice shots. I did my first underwater photography stint recently, too (not my first time diving, though;)). I long for my chance to hit the GBR...

It was pretty freakin awesome. I only spent a long weekend up in Cairns, since I was going to school in Melbourne, but I managed to get 2 days out on the reef. The first day was out in the GBR, and that was fantastic, but the next day blew it out of the water. We spent the day at Fitzroy Island, and took about an hour and a half of hiking to get to a "****" beach where the best snorkling supposedly was. It was ok. After trekking back to the lodge area for lunch, we opted to go swimming right off the dock rather than troop all the way back to the beach. A great decision!!!! The water was only about 6 feet deep, but the abundance of life was INCREDIBLE!!! There were loads of crocea clams everywhere, christmas tree worms, and even a pair of triggers defending their territory!!!
