@telegraham have you tested the 140 watt smatfarm g6 new light? Would you recommend it?!

He seems to have a positive view on the weaker version this new g6 seems to be really strong maybe it’ll grow sps lps
With enough lights, you can grow anything.
I'm sure it has the right spectrum.
Let's see if he comes on.
He's on Instagram and humblefish also. On humble there's a whole thread on lights.

Some of that is very gimmicky.
Though, clouds drifting by I wouldn't mind.
The lightning I can do without, it will only startle fish and make them nervous.

see that’s interesting, i have the ai primes over my current 75 gallon tank, and had 2 pairs of watchman gobies and shrimp combos and they only went for food during the storm times

140W max might mean several 140W lights.

If you want something that will give you support, I think two Quanta Atlas will work. Be sure to ask Luca what he thinks. Set and forget. 0-10V dimming. $500 each. 14000k spectrum. If not the Atlas, or you're not a fan of white light, the ReeFi Uno 2.0 Pro. I'd expect you to need at least three, but ping Daniel at ReeFi.

You think 3-4 of the 140w smatfarm wouldn’t work?

72 x 30x 22 but I’m leaving an 3-4 inch gap between front glass and back for swim room
Yes, but it will be dark also. That's asking a lot for it to cover more than 24" width. Either two rows of Lights or one row with t5s.

Well eventually down the road i might add 2 orpheks
Single point lighting at 90° gives shading around the edges. Those being 90° trying to cover a 30" tank will be hard. Coupled with 6" off the surface makes it harder to cover. If they are raised up, say 12", it will cover more but less par. Most* lights cover 24". That means 12" from the source in all directions. The lights you chosen are just that.
BRS did a video on lighting coverage. The blue sky reflects downward, blanketing the ocean. This makes sense, we need to blanket the tank. Also, the sun is a single point light that gives us shimmer.

I'm going on a limb, but I'm sure telegraham was saying more lights being the only light source. Had you said led bars or t5's with the smatfarms, he would say it would have been fine with 3 or 4 lights. IMO, @telegraham can correct me if I'm wrong.
