Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what this is. I’ve never seen anything like it in any of my systems before. It’s mostly transparent and is stuck to the glass. It appears to have tentacles that it uses to feed from the water column. It’s very small, maybe the size of a sesame seed. I apologize for the poor quality photos I tried my best but it was difficult to get my phone to focus on it. Thanks for any info!

From recent experience, I believe it to be a hydroid. Usually benign, sometimes bad. Depends on species.

They tend to appear in newly maturing tanks and dissapear on their own but you can remove them manually. They will sting things.
