Different species of fish react wildly differently to LaCL - it really takes out tangs. I don't know what effect it has on gobies per-se. I also don't have a good handle on survivorship - I've seen tangs just outright die from it, but I don't know about a fish that is injured by it but doesn't die right away....

The goby finally passed away. It suffered for a week, it was strong and willing. I am not a believer in euthanasia. If life is so short, why make it shorter by euthanasia? Isn't suffering just part of life? It tried to live, I saw it try so hard.

Thanks Jay, and vetteguy. I found the issue. The water intake in the fleece roller snapped off, but sat in place, which let quite a bit of return water to bypass the filter. Fixed it now. Somehow that let some of the precipitate in the main display, which the goby inhaled or ate.
