I've added 4 green Chromis in to my tank about 3 days ago. I'm UK based and purchased these from a online retailer.

One of the Chromis has not eaten at all. He is less active and I mostly see him in the corner of the tank on his own. There are no obvious markings and I don't see any bullying from the other fish. I am seeing an excretion. Please see photo.

Can anyone advise what i should do. Should I be treating the fish with a medication. Can anyone advise UK based treatments.

Appreciate any help.

Pics are best under white light intensity as thse are a little dark.
What is salinity-temp and Ph of water?
Are you using RODI water to mix salt or tap water from the faucet?
The little dots in the feces are mucus and assure you are giving more than mysis or brine which may have caused this in part why its not eating.
Is fish breathing normal or labored?

Thanks @vetteguy53081

Ive just tried taking a better photo but It's evening here in UK so they are all curled up in the rocks. I'll share a better photo in the morning.

I'm using a 5 stage RODI filter that was purchased new about 4 months ago. It's had about 600L through it only. I'm mixing my own Red Sea Salt at 1.025.

I've been feeding mostly live and frozen brine shrimp, but also tried ocean nutrition flakes and pellets. I've not seen the fish eating anything since I got them 3 days ago.

- Redsea Max E170 with sump.
- Salinity 1.025
- PH 8.2 (Red sea test kit)
- Alkalinity 6 (RSTK)
- Nitrate 4ppm (RSTK)
- Phosphate 0.04 (Hannaa)
- Nitrite 0 (RSTK)
- Amonia 0.1ppm (RSTK)
- Temp 25.5 to 26 degrees C

Ammonia is slightly elevated as you want .025 or less and how are you testing levels?
Disregard Nitrite which is freshwater specific.
How did you acclimate fish and for how long?

I'm testing with the Red sea standard test kits. To be fair I do struggle to get an accurate amonia level as it's quite difficult to see the exact colour.

I acclimated the fish by dripping the display tank water into a separate contrainer with the fish for about 2 hours. I probably ennded with about 0.5L of arrival water to about 1L of my display tank water. Then I fished them out with a net.

The other 3 chromis are doing good though?

It is pretty common to see a high percentage of loss with this species when first acquired. I often tell folks that buying 6 to get 4 healthy ones is a reasonable expectation. These fish are "low value" and really get the short end of the stick when it comes to travelling through the supply chain - not much effort is put into handling them well (ugh).
