Just getting started! about a month in.

What size of biocube is this? Is that Reel Reef rock in the front? Is that a Hydor Koralia Nano pump? 240 or 425? Sorry for all the questions but I was thinking about doing the same thing.

Thanks!

Its a coralife Biocube 29 Gallon.... the rock in the tank is just live rock I bought at a local fish store. My pump is the 425 Hydor Koralia... it all seems to be happy at the moment. I just added a GSP frag to the back wall and you can prolly see the small hammer coral frag sitting up front... here within a few months im going to be doing a LED retro fit lighting upgrade.... if you got the Biocube would you keep the Bioballs or use an alternate method?

Thanks for the information. That is exactly what I thought it was as this is the same set up that I'm looking at doing when I get the money.

I was going to replace the bioballs with (2) Eshopps large foam filters, a bag of Seachem Matrix Bio media and some Seachem Matrix Carbon or Seachem Purigen. Just like ReefThuZ did on this video: Coralife BioCube Basics: Simple Filter Modification Update - YouTube

Good luck with the tank. Looks great so far.

legacy2mj - I like your rockscape as well. Similar to what I was thinking of doing. Kind of a arch and cave. Great minds think alike. :)

I have watched all of Reefthuz videos so i know exactly what your talking about. I added the matrix carbon to my filtration system since the one that comes with the biocube is pretty weak. But i decided to leave the bioballs back there and see what they can do. I hope its not too long you have to wait before your money situation is right for the tank, it sure it a lot of fun putting together and watching develop. Good luck on everything!!

Here my 30g Deep Blue. It was supposed to be set up for the Nano in 90 but my other tank started leaking so it was a move I had to make early. And I know the tang shouldn't be in there. I'm waiting for a friend to come get him but he does look to be happy never pacing always just swimming swimming swimming.

Nice setup Tom. Any plans for the tank yet?

Thanks! Plan so far is get most of my basics set up, get some hardy corals to start with and just build it up slowly piece by piece. I just got some new media baskets I'm going to out filter floss, purigen, and chemipure elite in. Just ordered the wave maker slip stream nozzles. Thinking about the skimmer or not, maybe a little bit down the road.
