Welcome to R2R! I just posted this picture earlier today in my tank build thread. I'm running a single Kessil A360WE about 7.5" off the water and love the color and shimmer it gives the tank.

I'm a big fan of Kessil but I cant image you get any measurable PAR into the lobby display tank at that mounting height? Is it going to be a non-photosynthetic reef?

Our Kessil (A360WE) T5 hybrid lit 75g (just did quite a bit of pruning).

And our new Kessil T5 hybrid (working on the fixture now) lit 150g.

Work in progress. I’m ITCHING to get new fish and corals but I had to get a root canal so i had to use the tank money for that smh. In the morning the lights are that “sunrise” look for about 10 min and then transitions and ramps up and ramps down to different colors and intensities throughout the day

How’s your lighting and tank do while using a Glass cover? Does it affect the tank/coral growth at all?

Corals and Nems are doing great with glass covers. Tank evaps about 3 gals per week w/glass lids vs almost 6gals w/screens.

I had BRS black screens previously and w/par meter compared to glass - difference was minute. Growth has been about the same.

My dentist said I needed a root canal, sent me over to his partner who said I didn't need one. I flew out of that chair so fast. Don't even think I said goodbye lol :D. Really nice tank! It'll be fun for you and your little guy to work on it together.

On my 90G Cadlights. That was a few days ago with the 2 360's and 4 160's. Yesterday my daughters cichlid tank needed new lights so I told her let's stick a couple 160's on it and see how it looks. Well it looked awesome so I drove to the lfs and bought another 360we so now I have 3 360's and 2 160's.

At least 4-5 feet I've never measured the exact distance :p

What lights? I thought that the Kessil's, or at least the new 360x, was designed to be closer to the surface. If those are the lights used and that high are you using the lens cap or whatever it is called to narrow or focus the light? If I mounted my 360's that high I'd have so much wasted light or splash that it would be not very cost effective so just wondering what or why.
