Should I take this out of the tank?

Toadstool looks like it’s dying in the middle. I had to leave my tank at my parents house while me and my wife moved, I think the food from the auto feeder fell in the middle of the toadstool and slowly started to eat at the flesh. The rest of the coral looks fine, it still opens most of the day. But the middle looks pretty bad. Is the death of the whole thing inevitable? I know they are pretty bad for the tank when they die. Should I rip it out? It’s a beautiful coral I’ve had it for years. If there’s anyway it’ll survive I’d like to keep it

If it still opens like normal I personally would not take it out. Unless you see that it is actually spreading or getting worse it will likely recover with time.

That’s great to hear. It looks fine in all honest, just that middle section.
