I have this plating monitpora and montipora stellata which are beginning to grow into each other. They are currently touching, but I don't know if to take any action, as I don't want one to outgrow and grow onto the other one. Are these corals compatible with one another?

Being "compatible" I think is rare. They may draw a line but my money would be on the plate being a faster grower.

Seems to be the case. Should I do anything, or let them be
I think let them be, I think it’s cool to watch the warfare. If you don’t want to see one win though you could separate them. It’s not a good picture but I have a few monti species all constantly in battle. They grow into one another but don’t fuse.

Right ok then

So they won't wipe out a significant portion of one another?

They certainly could but one will probably win. Or they’ll fight each other evenly. It depends on the species and how quickly they grow. It’s up to you if you wanna separate them though. My rank is really small so there’s not much I can do and it’s kind of neat to see them sting each other but that’s just me.

I looked again, one looks like a digi and the other a plating monti. They’ll probably be fine. They won’t live in harmony or anything like that but the plating moti will probably just grow around the branching digi and that’s about it.

Thanks. The digi is actually a stellata just to confirm
