Shaded coral color recovery

Hello all!

I have a torch coral with some very beautiful yellow striped tentacles. It wound up getting shaded and over a few weeks lost most of its bright gold color.

I have found a lot of information on color coming back after bleaching, but what about after shading?

I have stable water params that it has been happy in, and I moved it back into the light.

Will it return to full color if chemistry is good? If so, how long will it take for the light to fully rejuvenate the original bright colors?

All corals can gain back lost color. It just takes time. What are your nitrates and phosphates at?

Nitrates at 10ppm phosphate at 0.04ppm

I have shaded Indo gold torches and regained color in a few (maybe 2?) weeks by moving them back

Bleaching is much harder to recover from then shading

It's been about a week back in the light and the color isn't coming back as fast as I had expected so I just wanted to check in to get a realistic time frame.

Do you target feed the torch ?

I have been yes, benepets lps pellets. I've tried mysis but my fish are too greedy to let the torches keep it.

Ok you could soak the pellets in Brightwell Restor to help. It’s for lps that lost color for various reasons.
