Keep in mind that anemones can pollute the water pretty easily, as I've always heard they are dirty. You'd need to do water changes to keep it healthy probably.

As for light, that should be ok on such a small tank for one nem.

You could do some soft corals in there, like zoanthids, or some leathers maybe. Mushrooms like he mentioned above would be ok as well.

Plant wise, shaving brush plants look great and tend not to get eaten. They are also fairly easy to contain and offer a little filtration.

Any other macro algeas and you will probably get in trouble with them getting out of control.

I would try a soft coral like xenia or Kenya tree because they will aid in filtration and don't need much light. They will grow fast so you don't want them in a large tank because they can take over. Perfect from something small though.

Put a Max-Mini anemone in there. They are in the 3-5" range and sexy shrimp host in them. I have 2 in my 75g and the sexy shrimp goes back and forth between them.

i was planning to place a few soft corals in there, maybe some gracillaria, a mangrove or 2, and maybe some other stuff too. i just dont know right now, my money is a lil tight.. lol this tank was originally going to be a fresh water tank with just some glow fish, but last nite she seemed more excited about setting up a salt water tank and i couldnt just say no.. lol alot of ideas just blowing threw my head now i dont even know where to start...

plus my sexy shrimp i bought yesterday disappeared this morning in my tank.. =[ i have no clue what might of eaten him.. i have a small cleaner shrimp i got yesterday, a small percula, small 6 lined, and a small randalls goby... i did see a small hairy crab (decorator crab maybe?) i went looking for him this morning but he wasnt hiding in my big zoa colony this morning so idk..

You could go with Maxi Mini like tc suggested or just Mini nems which can be super colorful!

If you did try an anemone, only try a Maxi-Mini carpet. My rule is no crabs unless they are hermits. They are just more problems than they are worth. How old is this tank BTW?

also try some spotted porcelain crabs they are filter feeders and totally reef safe, plus they hang out around anemones in the wild. i have 4 of them and i love them. they just sit there and use their little feeders in the current.

yea thats what i was thinking.. i wasnt going to put any crabs, except maybe a hermit or 2.. my tank is about 8 or 9 months (28g nano).. the tank im setting up for her today is going to have water out of my 28g and new black sand going to let it filter for about 2 weeks maybe longer..

they look really kool but i cant ever find any small ones in the LFS, i might grab like one maybe 2.

you should check out the pico 4.5 gal diy that was posted a couple of days ago it was a great post/write up

do you know who posted it?
on another note that pistol shrimp i took back, only ended up trading him for a 5$ mangrove shoot.. lol you should of came and got him.

yah they were always hard for me to find. thats why when i find them i get as many as they have usually just 1-2 they are delicate so i assume alot perish in shipping but if you can get them they are great to watch. also i know aquacon.com sells them and i think they are on sale right now like 5 bucks plus you live in fl so shipping is only like 15$ also they have a Pederson Shrimp on sale also. i ordered 4 porcelains from them and they were all good to go when i got them.

here's the link to the post https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/member-tanks/55201-my-diy-4-5g-pico-vase.html

I agree the only thing you would be able to do is a max mini carpet but I would lean towards some cool spas or some nice rocordia both of which would do just fine under small conditions and your lighting mentioned
