It's time for me to down size. I never really liked the big tank anyways. I have a 80 Marineland Bowfront setup that originally was my brothers but had to be moved to my place when he was in the process of moving/having new house built.
The tank ended up staying with me and I no longer want to mess with it. There are only 2 fish in there. A single clown and a pigmy angel fish. I'm thinkin' of downsizing to somethin like a 28 nano cube or maybe a standard 29 gal. just to keep those 2 fish.
What am I lookin' at here? I figure I will go with a new sand bed but use what rock I can from the 80 (over 100lbs). Do about 50/50 water? Fresh saltwater and saltwater from the 80? How long do you think I will have to wait before I can move the fish and corals to the new tank?
And what about a fish trap to catch the fish? I think I can get the clown no problem when feeding but the angel, I would have to remove all the rock. Hopin' to not have to do that.
Would appreciate any advice.
