Second sudden death while transferring to QT. Bacterial or protozoan?

Pictures of a springers damsel attached. We also lost an orchid dottyback with similar marks. The dottyback was being bullied in the DT, the springers damsel was healthy as could be this morning in the DT. I moved it to QT and the other two springers damsels that had been in QT a few days took a dislike to their former friend.

I'm running Kanaplex in the QT now. Waiting for Metro to arrive on Wednesday. Wondering if this looks and sounds like something inherently infectious and destructive, or stressed and injured fish succumbing to an otherwise benign bacterial issue.
