Sea Swirl question

I have what is probably a 1st gen 1" sea swirl. I've had to replace the motor and linkage once, about 6 years ago, and that replacement only lasted about 2 years. It died of the same cause that the original motor died from, moisture ingress. The SeaSwirl is a great idea, on paper, but the version I have seems to not have taken waterproofing into account at all in design. Are the latest generation sealed better than this? I mean, the motor is running off 120V AC, which really doesn't seem like a good idea.

I know the latest gen uses 24V AC, and if you want a new motor for an existing unit like mine, you have to send it in and have them do a conversion for you. I'm not spending $250 on a new motor, as that's more than what I bought the unit for 15 years ago.

I just ordered 4 from Ed. You are correct, the ones I am receiving are 24v. However, I think the design is the same. He has to drill the side you want the cord to poke out. And he says you want that facing outward so it doesn’t get wet. I asked him the question how long will these last since you (Ed) are semi retired. He states 6-10 years provided you don’t hold the nozzle as it’s spinning. I’m new to the Sea Swirl world. I have had a heck of a time getting him to understand how my eurobrace is configured. I’ve sent pictures and measurements more than once. But again, I am new to the sea swirl game.
