Hello,

I have a 7 month old 40gal tank with good parameters. Last week I purchased a Sea hare, a cleaner shrimp, and an arrow crab. All 3 died within like 3 days and I'm not sure why.

Current tank inhabitants: Haitian Anemone, 1 banggai cardinalfish, 3 blue legged hermit crabs, 1 turbo snails, 2 bumblebee snails, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 sprig of aphasia and 3 small tube worms that came in on my roughly 10lbs of live rock added during initial setup.

Current parameters: pH 7.5, Ammonia between 0.2, Nitrites 0.1, Nitrates 5, Salinity 1.024

Can anyone help me pinpoint a reason they could have died? They were purchased at petco.

Sea hares are very sensitive to parameter shifts (particularly nitrates), and they just don't seem to live more than 4-6 months in my experience. If you're looking for something equally "sluggy" try to find an abalone.
