i did something similar in my nano! a few months ago i lost a bunch of duncans and frogspawns due to an alk spike (user error, very dumb, don’t ask) and mounted the skeletons to magnets. now i have gonis on themA diy project sitting on the shelf still. Attach magnets to barnacle clusters. Once school starts back up I'll have a little more time hopefully to get them done.
I love them. I have the single for torches, 11 hole for gonis, my black widow nem loves the magcave, i also turned a couple of the caves upside down and glued frags of long polyp toadstools to the top. My blenny and some anthias sleep in the upside down caves at night. @Thuan might be worth trying to see if your csb would like the cave so you dont have to keep it in it’s own acrylic box that needs periodic cleaning.4 or 5 sales back we were discussing them, I think a couple people in here picked up some.
Maybe someone else will chime in about them.
@Thuan that is mounted to the front of my tank. It would look a lot better on the side or back but right now because of flow the front is the best spit in my tank. Here’s a top down of it.I love them. Beautiful widow. I may have to try it. Is your widow happy there and has it moved/wandered from the magcave?I love them. Is the dry side magnet submersible? I want to mount on y back wall but that is also where my ATO IS (Cade 1200)It's these @liudachris
Did you I'd them, were they euphyllia eating flatworms or polyclad or something else?Lost around 30 heads of high end torches this week ***. Kept noticing they were going down hill and had no idea why, flesh looked good and my Params are all spot on. Acros all healthy... Turns out it wasn't flesh, pulled like 6 colonies dead today and they were covered in MASSIVE flatworms. Like quarter sized. I hate this hobby sometimes. 5K coral down the drain in a week
Gotta get the scarlet hermits..they do the best job and leave things alone to boot. Some random thoughts, because who doesn’t at 7 I’m the morning before being fully awake yet. Snails- you’d think that because they have sensory antennae of a sorts and the same for eyes they’d be less likely to run over or through things. As bad as urchins minus the whole hat thing with the big turbos. And hermits. I’ve got a bunch of hermits in my nano. Aside from chowing down on snails which is annoying and expected, I have some smaller ones that like to use my Acros as watch towers. Don’t really hurt them but still….
The small ones? I had one and it must have died of old age. I liked it. I have 4 small blue legged hermits.Gotta get the scarlet hermits..they do the best job and leave things alone to boot.
Rough. I don't understand how people have tanks in hotter weather without a chiller which is a huge extra cost. How bout those 101 degree Temps in the water in miami...coral didn't take too kindly
Good morning. Nice and early on the west coast.GM all
It loves the spot. Ive had it there over a month and it has never moved. It got even more puffed up and spread out than when i had to in an acclimation box though. I am going to put my csb in one eventually, but i havent got the nerve to try and remove it from the outside of the collander it has called home.Beautiful widow. I may have to try it. Ice cube double bagged in a Ziploc or you could make a cube with RO water and just press it to the foot to get it to release. Super easy way to move a nem.It loves the spot.
