I actually took painters tape and covered some of the whites on mine. They are just a little heavy on the whites. If I had the time I would diy some blues and 390nm replacing some of the whites.

There's a diy thread here or somewhere else. A guy done just that and swapped some LEDs and it looked 100x better.

I've seen the mod..looks good. I'm either going to add some bars with white in them on the new tank and run blues only on the vipars or get reefi 2.0s. I like the idea of only running the vipars at 50% even at 100% blues

I miss MH lights. I find LEDs too blue in general. But I don’t miss the heat and crazy evaporation.

They are actually pretty easy. Just don’t expect instant gratification. Cattleyas only bloom once a year and flowers only last 1-2 weeks.

Changing out leds is pretty simple to. Just get a decent soldering iron, and the leds in the wavelength you want. Desolder the whites, and put the blues in their place. Resolder.
