I target feed nothing. Occasionally I'll throw some at the Blastos, Micros, and Favias but usually I just broadcast feed the tank.
thanks! I’ve been wondering if I’m wasting my time with this.I broadcast feed my softies/leathers with reefroids and oyster feast
I used too. The acans and blastos benefited most imo..as well as some zoas/palys.Woodyarmadillo’s beginner question of the day:

That's where all those shrimp rolls go...These 2 loves to eat
I do have a couple Duncan’s that have popped out new heads pretty quick and seem to have a strong feeding response but my Zoas don’t like me either way. Rarely ever have all the heads on one zoa opened at the same time. Acans have been doing great, feeding might be helping them. Maybe I’ll cut back and see what happens. I think I probably feed a lot more direct feeding than I would broadcast feeding.I used too. The acans and blastos benefited most imo..as well as some zoas/palys.
Extra parts are a bonus! Well done! That’s quite the set!I'm beat! @billyocean does it matter I have a surplus of nuts and bolts?
Man how many boxes does something like that come in?Extra parts are a bonus! Well done! That’s quite the set!
No..you should be hoisted on someone's shoulders and paraded around the yard like the king of diy you are sir.I'm beat! @billyocean does it matter I have a surplus of nuts and bolts?
I do target feed. I know @StatelineReefer has opinions on this, but gonis I definitely dust directly with powdered food and the flow off. Acans, bowerbankis, my new scolymia, my acanthophyllia, hammers, frogspawn, Duncan's, and torches also get direct fed either LPS pellets or a thick mixture of reef roids and other powdered foods.Woodyarmadillo’s beginner question of the day:

I forgot about blastos, those need it too in my opinion. If I did it again..it would be for acans and blastos.
Duncan's can eat every 30 mins if you tried. Whenever I feed mysis to the fish, I dip the pipette into the middle and blast the Duncans.I do have a couple Duncan’s that have popped out new heads pretty quick and seem to have a strong feeding response but my Zoas don’t like me either way. Maybe... I broadcast a couple of times a month and my Vivida has a new head. My two Merletti grow new heads frequently, and my two Wellsi seem to struggle whether I broadcast or target feed.I forgot about blastos, those need it too in my opinion.
My thoughts are corals don't "need" direct feeding, but slow growers like blastos will grow more with feeding. I think all Aquaculturists feed to increase growth rates for anything with a mouth.
Oh fun note, I always always read that Duncan's don't have sweepers. I have a newer Duncan colony and it melted my convict chalice. Strangest thing in the world. The other two color variations I have can touch anything and no issues.Duncan's can eat every 30 mins if you tried. 4 counting that dag blum twisty slide! That was a chore and a puzzle!!Man how many boxes does something like that come in?
