I started with Fritz RPM didn’t like it corals really never grew or looked good. I switched the Red Sea Blue liked it but became hard for me to find and price went way up. I use Aquaforest reef salt now and love it. Mixes to where I like to keep things and coral seem to be doing good and growing.

To me it seem s random. I was almost going to switch to another salt a while back and then they got it in stock again. Salt insecurity here. lol

I'd just skip the water changes until your preferred brew is back in stock.

I know that for some folks that is unknown territory and scary :)

As this subject came up today, In an ever changing industry, What salt brand are you using currently and what brand were you using previously if this applies?
Did you find better results with the current salt and which was better?

If your favorite brand was no longer available and out of stock, what brand would be your next choice and why?

I have been using and currently use Tropic Marin Actif, and previously used the pro version until the issue with Turkey had occurred. I have a few buckets of Reef Crystals salt now on hand as I stocked up before the price increase in February but I do have a small bucket of AquaForest salt to use first.

If I did not have the extra salt on hand, I would seek Seachem Salinity salt as it is my all-time favorite mix.
I use Tropic Marin due to purity- pharmaceutical grade , but I find it creates a minimal ph level 7.8 and will not go any higher!

Starting up my 230 and will be going with Red Sea Blue, Used Tropic Marin in my last tank didn't see a whole lot of difference except price.

I have used HW Marinemix for a few years because it leaves the mixing container cleaner than the Reef Crystals I was using before. Always open to something better though as I have been chasing a decent alk number now for a while, dosing more and more without much of a jump.

Been using Fritz for a few years now with no issues. I was on Tropic Marin before that, but the price was getting ridiculous.

I was using Nyos but for the last 4+ months it seems to be out of stock everywhere so have switched back to Tropic Marine Pro. I was using Red Sea Coral Pro but didn't like the brown residue it left behind in my mixing containers.

I am thinking a oth switching to Two Little Fishies since they are reputable and I like the idea of using 50 gallon small bags. That would save time spend on measuring. I don't know if it will will the same brown residue issues as the lower priced salts.
I used Two Little Fishies for a few months in my nano tank. The bags didn't always mix to the same salinity, and did have a little brown residue. I'm sure it goes without saying, but make sure you check salinity, and don't trust the pre-measure. But otherwise it was fine.
I just got some Tropic Marin on sale at Petco, and going to try that for a bit. (and by bit, I mean it will last the next 12-14 months :))

I used to use Reef Crystals but price shot up and there was a lot of sediment. Switched to HW-Marinemix Reefer salt for the last few years. On sale it is comparably priced.

Let's expand on this . . . . . .

Where is everyone getting their salt from?

LFS, Mail order like BRS), amazon, Premixed from LFS or ?????

I get mine thru Chewy and pick up at Petsmatrt as many dont know, but Chewy owns Petsmart

I use store bought right now..reef crystals..but I'm not liking the brown residue in the bottom of my container..so I'm going to mix my own starting this week using aquaforest reef salt..10% change to start so I don't drive my corals mad..I like what I've read..mixes clean and quickly, test results avail on your bag/bucket..only thing that I've seen I wish was different..only good for 5 days post mix..
