I have a 120 gallon tank that was up and running for about 5 years. However, for the past several years, the tank was empty except for the saltwater in the tank. Periodically, I was adding RODI water as the tank water evaporated.
I am refreshing the now empty tank, BUT there is a residual haze on the upper portion of the glass when the water evaporated. I am assuming that it is from the salt in the water.
I have tried cleaning it using several different methods, including a razor glade, green scouring pad, vinegar (household strength) & rubbing alcohol, with only limited success.

Also, when the area is wet, the haze disappears; however it reappears as soon as it dries.
Does this mean that it would not be visible when the tank is refilled?

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, I think if you fill it as high as the ‘problem’ line, it will disappear (at least to the eye) within days to weeks.
