My current salinity is 1.024. on Waterbox 100 gallon system. I’m doing a water tomorrow, about 25 gallons Chang. In mixing new salt mix, what should it be for the system to reach 1.026? I’m using RO/DI water and Tropic Marin Pro Reef Salt.
Thank you

I would mix the 25 gallons at 1.0265. When you add it to your system, this should get you close to 1.026. It won't be exact, but it will be close.

This would get to 1.024 + 0.0025/4 = 1.0246.
To get to 1.026 with 25g water change, add 25g at
1.024 + 4*0.002 = 1.032.
Better to go slow, as described earlier.

Thanks for the formula; it is very helpful! I can use this in the future.

I tend to be conservative in raising salinity, as there are many unknown factors in his system that could impact it, such as the evaporation rate, whether there is an ATO, or whether RODI water is manually added, etc.
