Hello My ato stayed on because I'm an idiot (tl:dr)

Salinity dropped from 1.026 to 1.021 in 3 hours.

What do I do.

Don't panic. Panicking only makes things worse.

Decreases of salinity is alot less stressful to tank inhabitants that an increase is. Yes, your drop was alot, but dont worry about it. Slowly raise your salinity. That's it.

I tried to stay calm and it does help!

I've lowered the tank volume and evaporation will help it rise slowly.

I'm just scared because I am going away for the weekend..

I wouldn't worry.... fish will definitely be fine, corals should too (if you have any).

Are things stressed right now?

If they are and it was a quick drop like that, I would bring it up closer to 1.024. This is just MY experience, I've had drops to 1.019 from 1.026 quickly...seen things close up and bring them back up to a tolerable salinity within an hour and watch things open up. That's with softies and LPS.

A few of them seemed unbothered but some were clearly a bit unhappy. I added a bit of salt and now it's up to 1.022 but I feel like it's best to let it rise slowly on here out

Are you able to mix up a 20% water change to get you closer to 1.023?

If not, just add salt to your ATO and it will get up slowly but surely

Yes and I've already added back saltwater to it (have it on hand) and it's up to 1.022 now. I feel like letting it evaporate back to .026 is best
