Hi, has anyone else had problems with their Sailfin tang ripping off GSP? Each time i buy a frag he manages to rip it off. I also had my pipe work inside my tank painted black with aquarium safe rubber paint which he stripped and then watched my fox face eat thinking it was Nori. Im sure i could see a smirk on his face as Foxy chowed down. Luckily over the last couple of moths the fox face has managed to clear his system, thanks to him eating copious amount of sand to the point that he was barely buoyant. :grinning-squinting-face: :angry-face:

Do fox face often eat sand?

I would be careful about "rubber" paint of any kind in an aquarium. Like wiring on a car that attracts rodents to chew on it because of how the coating was made I have to wonder if your sailfin was attracted to that rubber paint. :)

The foxface was bound up with strips off rubber paint in is stomach that he couldn't pass so started eating sand to try and force it out. This went on for months until it finely worked its way out. He is all good now. Im pretty sure the Sailfin started eating film algae of the pipe work and then nicked a bit of paint off the side. Thinking it was Nori he started stripping it off and the foxface joined in.
