I'm inexperienced so take my advice only along with others confirming it: I would vote to increase biodiversity as well so dosing phyto and copepods is key. I would also think some macroalgae in the sump or display would help outcompete your algae blooms. Note that macroalgae needs nutrients just like coral so it may also sit there starving if the other problems aren't solved.
