I shutdown my 165-gallon reef tank a few months ago and I'm still in the process of selling everything. This week, it's time for my Skimmer.
This skimmer is in excellent condition. Right after shutting down my tank I took the skimmer completely apart, vinegar-soaked everything, and cleaned all the parts so it's ready to go back into service. You shouldn't even need a break-in period.
It's between 3-4 years old and has never given me any issues. The red dragon DC pump is very quiet and has bulletproof reliability. I was always amazed by the amount of skimmate it would remove from my system.
