I have been using the Thieling compact rollermat since it came out. I have noticed that every time I order new fleece something different comes. Sometimes the fleece is thick but will stretch and water will move around it. Sometimes the fleece is so thin it barely stops anything and a roll will last me 3 months. Sometimes its just perfect.

I really don't care for the inconsistency and am thinking about switching to something else. Not worried about fleece cost just want something that works. Even if that means replacing the roll every other week.

I think all the fleece materials might be the same but just different microns. But if we go with the unit itself my vote is for the Reefmat. Its so simple to install and to change rolls. The app isn't really that great but once its installed you don't need to go into it. Wish I could just set it up without it. The other rollers are kind of a pain to change rolls.

Clarisea rolls are very good quality, but I would not base your decision just on the quality of the fleece alone, you might just be swapping one irritation for another.

Other brands may have slightly inferior fleece but make up for that in other ways, as long as you go for a fleece that is good enough you may be happier with your choice because it doesn’t irritate in other ways.

True, I am happy enough with the unit. Another option, Has anyone used the 40 micron coolant paper rolls and just cut them to size?

I cut my fleece as I use them in a nano tank, I would not recommend cutting a fleece unless you have a professional cutter, not only is it a pain to cut, if you don’t get a straight line the fleece may not work.

Do you have a link to the fleece you use. I know someone who could cut it.
