I’m using a RS 1200. Auto advance using .2-.4 inch per advance.

I had it offline for a while, I relocated my 130g into a stock tank until my new display is in place. When lights are out, (I dose kalk at night) I can track that I use twice as much fleece per hour as I do when lights are on. Is this related to kalk use?

it could also be pods or other critters that come out at night causing more particulate matter to get caught in the fleece.

One recommendation for you - increase the advance length per auto-advance (I recommend having it be the length of the bottom of the reefmat chamber) so the motor has to turn on and off less frequently. The motors tend to burn out, and while it will be covered under warranty for the first year, it won't be covered beyond and it's a little annoying to take apart the unit to replace the motor.

That makes perfect sense. I've been using the shortest setting thinking I was saving on fleece but most likely using the same amount just advancing more often. Changing mine now. Thanks

2 things. dang. I burned a motor out on my 500 and just simply replaced it, I purchased 2 to have one as a back up. I never thought about warranty. And yes, that is a GREAT idea. I am switching it too now. Love R2R.

the top is 8.7 inches across but bottom dimension isn't listed, so you'll want to measure to be sure, but maybe 5-6 inches?

@TX_REEF I am going to go back to my original setting. Since moving it to 5 inches, I have gone through 2.5x's the amount of fleece I normally go through. I am going to let get back to how it normally is, then try 1 inch. then 2, etc. But, that jump really ate a bunch of fleece. I only just hooked this back up for a few days as I had to move my one tank into a stock tank. I think that has something to do with it too, as you can imagine, the stock tank is going through a little bit of the uglies. So, there is more particulate in the water than normal right now.
