I am looking for Guidance on what to expect with adding RFAs to an established tank.
Picked up two from Reef-A-Palooza CA and added them last night.
Both have settled and planted their foot and are not moving. However, they are nor fully open.
Tank is a 14 gallon AIO, softies only, one goby pistol combo.
AI HD 16 Low Light and Flow Low. Currently only using the outflow nozzle but do have a Jeabow (spelling) small powerhead ordered with guard.

What should I be expecting from adding new RFAs?
How much light is too much and how do I know if I have enough flow?
Any special tricks?
TIA

they will settle in or move. I would not adjust the lights or flow, they will adjust themselves. They are pretty easy going, I would just let them be.

Unfortunately I had adjusted the lights don a bit before your response due to a mushroom being unhappy. Not much just a little.
I will leave it alone now. About how much time before I should be concerned? I've read a ton of how easy they are so I'm just overly worried.

What intensity is your light?
I have AI Prime on a 15 gallon with softie's (mushrooms and zoa's) and 5 rfa's, my light is set at 70%, just to give you an idea, and I have 2 powerheads in the tank. 2 rfa's moved up top the rocks into higher light and flow, and 3 others moved down into lower light and flow.

They are very resilient, try not to worry.

These are the settings. I am only running the nozzle as the powerhead.
They just look rough. I'll give it some time.

Thanks!

If you want, post a pic and lets have a look. I am betting it is just acclimating to your tank.

The first picture looks ok'ish, rfa's sometimes ball up like that.
The second pic is a bit worrisome, but colour is good, a dying rfa will turn white.

I think you're doing the right thing so far. Your parameters are not mentioned so just double check that everything is in line. Hope someone else can chime in with some idea's. Lets bump this post in some time if no one replies

I appreciate your response and time!
I have another RFA that is in the tank that is still seeming to get comfy. Open and colorful just moves slightly.
Both opened last night and settled and have since balled up. Fingers crossed they work out.

Hi Mr. Mojo Rising,

This is today?

I took my water in for testing all good. One recommendation was to lower my cool whites. The green looks better the pink RFA is still getting there. All in all would you agree it's an improvement? Foot is planted on both
