I know the first one is in mushroom, it is more be red than the picture is showing. I don't know what kind of mushroom it is. I wanna make sure I have the proper the flow and light for it. I would preferably like to glue the mushroom frim is frag base. I bet online does it I move? That doesn't seem realistic. Seems pretty well. Attached to the frag base.
The second softie they told me the name at LFS and now I forget. I mean it looks like a Zoa, but I know it's not.
thanks for the help!

hard to tell from the pic, its a little blurry, but the green rimmed/red center coral look like what is commonly sold as a favia. if so, that's actually a large polyp stony coral. if it were a zoa or paly, i think the polyps would be more round and uniform in appearance and we would get the sense they were on a stalk, rather than squat to the plug.

favia, zoa, paly whatever it is, its going to like slower flow and lower light, just like the rhodactis shroom you have too.

the important thing with it being a favia/lps, it will be more sensitive than softies are to alkalinity and to some degree higher nitrates. good luck with them.

interesting, the sensitivity to nitrates would mean that we have to be careful not to overfeed the fish?

Yes, but it's not actually a huge deal. LPS actually require nitrates to be healthy. I've had super happy Favias in 100+ nitrates.

Currently 50 nitrates. My two Favia:

Ignore the ginormous bubble on the second one, my Christmas Favia decided to "bounce".

Great posts, yes, I think those are the names that were mentioned to me at the lfs.
I just gotta figure out how to take pictures with my iPhone 14 WYSIWYG. no matter how I adjust my iPhone I do not get good looking pictures, not for the two specimens asked about. But in this case, I got a good picture of kind of.

Keep an eye on that Starfish - you may need to directly feed it. Your sand looks fairly clean so it may not have enough food to sustain a starfish.

If you feed mysis or other frozen foods, just use a turkey baster to get it on the sand near the star. You don’t have to target feed directly to the mouth. My serpent star takes food from me directly with his tentacles.
