Remodeling tank good or bad idea

hey guys i have a 8 month old tank first reef tank and when i was new i basically took what i could and made if happen. I’ve been planning to remove the rocks from the picture and replace them with new dry rocks for s better shape to get more flow in the back have a lot of settling happening there.

Under that rock i have a pistol shrimp with my watchman goby will this cause any issues for them if i remove and replace those rocks?!

Also i was thinking of taking the green star polyp i have removing it all that rock “ bought it like that” and glue onto my back wall? If so what’s the best way to go about doing that my stupid hermits keep walking all over it and ripping it up.

Alsoooo have 10gallon tank with a 240gph wave maker few people told me to get a second one shooting from the other side to get a better flow going let me know

to me your tank looks fine, if you want more flow behind i suggest you to accommodate the rocks away from the back wall of the tank that way you will obtain the result you want, play with the rocks and looks for way to change it , looking at them they seems to be easy to change and place them nicely on the tank with out having to removed them, also remember that when you remove your rocks now you will removing a lot of live good stuff that your rocks already may contain already.

yes i agree with that itll be a slowish process till the new rocks build up problem i dont have space to put all my new corals in frankly just hate the look of the rocks also ill be dumping live Bactria into the tank to speed the process up as well do you think i can glue the green star to the back?

Replacing live rock with dry rock will most certainly result in algae issues and possibly ammonia.

I could always add live to the tank let it process for 30days ish and than remove the other rock no?

why swap out your rock at all?

If you don't like the current scape, rework it.

You can bust up live rock drill thru it put rods in it just like dry rock.

Make it look like what you want. Rarely do you ever want to remove your live rock and replace it as it is something that gets better over time.

This. Almost certainly ammonia since you'll lose your biofilter. Even added bacteria requires time. It isn't instant.

Uhmmmm good question but for that one I'll let the more expert to answer that one, never try anything like that....

Well the rock i currently have just doesn’t look as appealing what if i replace with older live rock that ok?

You will be able to get live rock that will be different in shapes, if you want to change the way they will stand and display, i bought all my live rock at a reef store that I trust, the only advantage with the dry rock is that no pest will coming into the tank but remember you may also have something and not knowing, for example I had 3 bristle worms that i wasn't aware on my 70 gallon tank until one night that i was doing a water change and put the big rock out for a moment and they came out, I was able to pull them immediately (as i hate them) but nothing guarantees that you do not have any of this things on your present rocks right now, it is typical of a tank and live rocks, but I don't think u care much about this except the look of how you rocks looks in the tank, my tank may not look all that either but I frequently change my rocks in order to give a new way for my fishes to swim and a new look every few weeks or months, on my case it is a little bit hard because almost all my rocks has corals and they are on the top so trying to put them together is a project that takes time and patience, right now I have them in the bottom almost all of them.

Yah i hate bristles aswell but i did get them from petco hate them but nothing i can do now want a new layout for my fish tank since it’s small not much room to swim wanted to set everything in the middle
